AT WHAT AGE CAN MY CHILD REGISTER TO PLAY?

Any child between the ages of 3-18 can register for youth soccer!

what supPlies / EQUIPMENT does my child need?

Your child needs to purchase a set of shin-guards and soccer shoes - both of which are available at any sporting goods store. A soccer ball is optional, but it’s always a good idea for your child to own his/her own so they can practice at home.

DO WE NEED TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM?

Yes - parents will need to purchase their child's uniform from our vendor partner, soccer.com - You can purchase the required uniforms here on soccer.com

What size soccer ball does my child need?

U4-U8 Age Groups use a Size #3 Ball
U9-U12 Age Groups use a Size #4 Ball
U13+ Age Groups use a Size #5 Ball

My child has never played soccer, does that matter?

Absolutely not! MYSA accepts players of all types -- whether it be a first-time soccer player or a child that has been playing for years. For the more advanced players, we offer competitive play with our Dynamo Jr.'s program.

How often do teams practice? and where is practice?

Each soccer teams practice location, date, and times are selected by the teams coach. Some teams practice only once a week, but most will have practice two times during the week.

where are the soccer games held?

Soccer games are held at the De Leon Soccer Complex in McAllen -- located across from the Walmart on the corner of Nolana & 29th St. For a map with directions, you can visit our Field Locations page.

how long does a season last?

Our Fall soccer season takes place from September through November, and our Spring soccer season lasts from February until May.

how is my childs team selected?

We do our best to select a team that practices at a park close to your home. We also try to "zone" most children on that team so they are all from the same school or surrounding area.
